God's Masterpiece

It is now a fast paced world where gratification is expected almost instantly. Much of our modern society has an "I want - I want" attitude where our success is measured in popularity and material possessions, and some of the more important aspects of a healthy life are neglected.
"He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. ” Psalm 46:10 (KJV)

We all have days when we feel as though we are not performing as well as others, that we are not as interesting, as energetic, as funny, as adventurous, as smart, as elegant, as giving, as useful or as loved. We are disappointed in ourselves at what we have to offer.  I came across a quote worth sharing: "You are God's handcrafted work of art. You are not an assembly-line product, mass produced without thought. You are a custom-designed, one-of-a-kind, original masterpiece." You not only need the time to "be still and know God" but to slow down and know yourself, to realise your own value, the value that God has placed in you. Understand that you don't have to fit a specific mold or unrealistic expectation that you imagine society has placed on you. God has given us all gifts. We are his living works of art and he is shaping and forming us to serve him in ways that make our ministry unique. Both our joy and our pain help us to mature and to bring new understanding and experiences to the table. Even the small, unnoticed contributions you make to other peoples lives are important. Like it or not - you do make a diffference to those around you - so aim to make it a positive difference.
